Event Description: 2012 Cowboy Fast Draw Colorado State Championship. Please join us for the excitement of a championship shoot-out at the Archuleta County Fair. 50 to 60 competitors from all over the country will be here to compete for the Mens and Ladies overall State Championship. Cowboy Fast Draw is a one on one competition to see who can draw, fire and hit their target 21 feet down range. Fastest shot wins the shot. No live ammo is used, only wax bullets are shot. Our guns are Colt .45 Peacemaker style single action revolvers just like they used in the old west. Our clothing is period correct for the time period of 1873 to 1899. We will also have an area where the general public can strap on a six gun like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood use and try Cowboy Fast Draw for themselves. Our experienced range officers will give you the safety instruction to allow you to safely handle the gun even if you have never held a gun before. We will provide all of the equipment.
